We have been making Kevin Bacon's Hoof Dressing according to traditional methods for more than 32 years. It is a 100% natural product made from animal fat and fresh laurel leaves that are macerated to release their active substances.

Our hoof dressing offers more than just a glossy finish—it deeply nourishes and strengthens the hoof from within. Regular application helps prevent the hoof wall from drying out, shields it from excess moisture, and promotes healthy horn growth. These benefits make our Hoof Dressing a trusted choice, widely used and recommended by equestrian professionals.

Like all natural greases, our Hoof Dressing naturally thickens in colder months, as it is free from solvents and crude oil derivatives. To ensure ease of use during winter, we have developed a special formula enriched with 25% more oil, keeping the dressing smooth and easy to apply even in low temperatures.

Unlike some other brands:

  • Solvents may maintain a consistent texture but can dry out the hoof wall.
  • Crude oil derivatives, such as paraffin and tar, block the horn's pores, restricting airflow and trapping anaerobic bacteria, which can lead to conditions like thrush.

Hoof Dressing also comes in black.

We incorporate natural vine ash into our hoof dressing to achieve its rich, dark colour. This addition, which has mild antiseptic properties, enhances the formula without altering the balm's effectiveness in any way.
